Overcompensate

I’ve been moving through something my body has been trying to tell me for a long time.

After months/years of running in survival mode, a simple cold pushed my system past its limit and forced a full reset.

I have dysautonomia — a condition where the autonomic nervous system (the part that controls heart rate, digestion, temperature, and stress responses) doesn’t regulate itself the way it should.
Because of that, my body slips into sympathetic overdrive more easily and stays there longer.

It’s like living with the accelerator pressed down, even when I’m sitting still.

When a recent cold-like virus hit, my system couldn’t keep running in that high‑alert state.

It shut off the overdrive I’d been surviving on and dropped me into a full reset — the heavy, slow, quiet phase I’m in now.

I’m sharing this because so many people live in ‘go‑mode’ without realizing it until their body finally hits the brakes for them.

If you’ve been wired, tired, overwhelmed, or suddenly exhausted, this might help you understand the shape of what your body is doing.

👉 Swipe through to learn what sympathetic overdrive is, how it builds, how it collapses, and why the reset phase feels so heavy but is actually a sign of healing.
